Cave La Mine

The cave of all Tunisian records

Development record with 4100 meters and depth record with 425 meters.

Cavity discovered at the beginning of the XXth century, during the exploitation of the now abandoned mine.

However, the important stalactites and stalagmites are precisely located in the entrance sector. Elsewhere, the great hall becomes austere and enormous screes replace the concretions. The walls are locally covered with eccentric bushes. The room follows the dipping of the layers then closes on a diaclase in which a well opens. It measures almost 150 meters long by more than 50 meters wide. The vault is sometimes 30 meters above the ground.
